There is no Orlando hive ordinance to photocopy

People ask if backyard hives are legal in the city. Orlando.gov does not publish a hive-code page. That is not the same as a ban.

Florida Statute 586.10, 2024, puts authority to regulate managed honey bee colonies with the state. It supersedes related local ordinances. UF/IFAS, in Keeping Bees in Florida, says FDACS preempts local ordinances except those adopted by HOAs or deed-restricted communities. If your deed forbids hives, the statute does not melt the deed.

You still register with FDACS. You still follow the residential best-management agreement. The city of Orlando runs education apiaries. It does not, on the pages we can find, run a local hive permit desk.
